Last few days I’ve been working on a last minute gift. My husband’s boss is having his big 40th this Saturday. Gifts are really not necessary but he has a son and I felt like making something for the kid. Thus, in reality, it’s not a gift for the boss at all.
I had some leftover Cascade Eco in two colours from previous projects. It’s a bulky yarn, great for quick knits. I found a free pattern on ravelry. Click here for the link. I also got a big bag of natural coconut shell buttons from Dollar Tree. I love that store! This is how it turned out before blocking.
I did adjust the pattern a bit. I also found the button hole instructions to be confusing. Natually I googled and found this excellent post.
I’ll attach the buttons with blue yarn to help them stand out a little.
What an awesome and cute sweater!! I love those buttons! I’m going to have to check out Dollar Tree! My mother always had a jar of buttons stored in the linen closet. I need to fill up a jar of my own! 🙂

You never know when you’ll need buttons! My grandma had jars of buttons too. I used to sit and look at them all when I was little. That’s where the obsession began, I suspect.
