Stitch Tuesday – Arabel Cable

This thick cable almost looks like a braid. Cables can be a bit tricky but with some practice they are a breeze. The first time I crocheted this cable it didn’t turn out right. Sometimes you want stitches to be in front of the ones you’re about to make and sometime you want them behind. This positioning changes the look dramatically and is key to a successful project. So here we go!

Ch 19 sts (or work this pattern into already existing 17 st)

  1. Dc in 4th ch from hk and each ch across, turn
  2. Ch 3, dc in the next 3 dc, sk 3 dc, FPtr in next 3 dc, FPtr in 3 sk dc (working with first 3 FPtr to the back of new st), FPdc in next 3 dc, dc in next 3 dc, dc in top of t-ch, turn
  3. Ch 2, hdc in next 3 dc, BPdc in next 9 sts, hdc in next 3 dc, hdc in top of t-ch, turn
  4. Ch 3, dc 3 in next 3 dc, FPdc in next 3 dc, sk 3 dc, FPtr in next 3 dc, FPtr in 3 sk dc (working with first 3 FPtr to the front of new st), dc in next 3 dc, dc in top of t-ch, turn
  5. Repeat row 3

Continue working rows 2-5 to desired length.
