Stitch Tuesday – Chain Links

I’m carrying on with cables this week. Chain link stitch is a mock cable that is super easy even for a beginner.

Ch multiple of 5

  1. Hdc in 3rd ch from hook, hdc in next 2 ch, *ch 10, sk next ch, hdc in next 4 ch; repeat from * across, turn
  2. Ch 2 (counts as 1st hdc), hdc in next 3 st, *tr in the sk st from row below (keep 10ch to the back and make sure not to stitch through it), hdc in the next 4 st; repeat from * across, turn
  3. Ch 2, hdc in the next 3 st, *ch 10, sk 1 st, hdc in the next 4 st; repeat from * across, turn
  4. Ch 2, hdc in the next 3 st, *tr in the sk st in the row below, hdc in the next 4 st; repeat from * across, turn

Repeat rows 3-4 until desired length. There is one more finishing row.

Starting at the bottom link the chains until the end. You can give the chains a twist for a tighter braid. When all of them are linked hdc across, going through chains and tr to secure them together.

Bind off and enjoy! Hope you guys are having a wonderful Halloween!
