Happy New Year readers, crafters, fashion lovers, people in general! It’s been a busy season. Many nights were spent knitting on gifts. I don’t know how I managed to pull it off since I’m not so young anymore and all nighters really take a toll. I finished the cowichan sweater. It was a big hit! My father-in-law absolutely loves it and I’ve been told he would sleep in it if he could. The best part is seeing his childish glee every time he puts it on.
These pictures were taken right after he put it on for the first time. It fits perfectly! I changed the gauge because old patterns have old sizing and what they deemed large would be a medium today.
For my lovely mother-in-law I knit an owl shawl. Unfortunately I ran out of time and didn’t have a chance to photograph it. But here is a link to the free pattern on Ravelry. I made it quite a bit bigger and it’s basically a long scarf.
My mom would have gotten a shawl as well, but I ran out of yarn… I was so close! It’s very disappointing. I have two options with it. First, I could look for more yarn. This is the least work intensive choice, but will take some time. Second, I could unknit the edging and make it a bit smaller. This would give me enough yarn to finish it, but will take up a considerable amount of time. What would you do? Let me know in the comments. Maybe there are other options I’m not considering.
To close this post off, I just want to thank everyone for following and to wish you all a wonderful year!
