The Green Venus Fly Trap is green on the outside with a beautiful red coloring that develops on the inside of the traps. Native to subtropical wetlands on the East Coast of the USA, it attracts bugs with its sugary syrup — and once the trigger hairs are bent, it snaps shut and digestive enzymes convert the prey into nutrients. Loves damp sphagnum moss and bright to part-shade lighting. Distilled or rainwater only — mist twice daily for best results.

The Green variety develops a beautiful red interior as it matures, which makes the open traps look like little mouths lined in red. Keep the sphagnum moss wet at all times, mist twice daily with distilled or rainwater, and give it bright light. Black traps are normal — they're part of the natural cycle and can simply be picked off.
