Hoya Krimson Princess
Deep green leaves with a creamy pink-to-white center variegation — the Krimson Princess is the Hoya that trails, vines, blooms, and asks very little in return.
The Hoya carnosa Krimson Princess is a semi-succulent perennial with lush, waxy foliage and gorgeous blooms. The variegation pattern is the reverse of the Krimson Queen — the creamy pink-to-white center is framed by deep green edges, giving each leaf a painted, intentional quality. New growth often flushes a vivid pink before the green fills in. Trails and vines beautifully in hanging pots or from elevated shelves. Available in a 4" or 6" nursery pot or Valentina Terracotta Planter (5").
What I love about it
The Krimson Princess is the Hoya for people who want something genuinely beautiful and genuinely easy. The center variegation — creamy pink-to-white framed by deep green — is crisp and vivid in bright light, and the new growth that flushes pink before maturing is a seasonal delight. The trailing habit works beautifully in a hanging planter or cascading from a high shelf, and the star-shaped flower clusters are a bonus that rewards patient growers. Beginner-friendly, long-lived, and endlessly rewarding.
Plant Care Tips
- ☀️ Light: Bright indirect light — keeps variegation crisp and encourages blooming
- 💧 Water: Let soil dry out between waterings; semi-succulent roots hate sitting in water
- 💧 Humidity: Appreciates humidity but adapts well to average indoor conditions
- 🐾 Pet Safety: Generally considered non-toxic to cats and dogs
- 🪴 Difficulty: Beginner-friendly — forgiving, long-lived, and endlessly rewarding
