The Spider Plant (Chlorophytum comosum) is native to the tropical rainforests of South America and thrives in loam-based soil with bright indirect sunlight. It grows up to 20" tall and produces small spider-like "pups" that hang off long curled stems — perfect for placing on a shelf or in a hanging basket. The pups can be easily rooted to grow new plants. Air-purifying and non-toxic. Available in 2", 4", or 6" nursery pot, Olympia Planter, Selene Planter (6.5"), or 8" hanging planter.

What I love about it

The Spider Plant is the plant that keeps on giving. The variegated foliage is striking — green and white striped leaves with a graceful arching habit — and the "pups" that dangle from long curling stems are genuinely charming. Each pup is a new plant waiting to happen: push it into soil while still attached, or separate and pot it independently. It releases oxygen, filters toxins, and is completely safe for cats and dogs.
