The Staghorn Fern (Platycerium bifurcatum) is an epiphytic fern native to humid tropical environments. It grows two types of fronds: the decorative antler-like fronds that develop brown spores at the edges, and the shield fronds at the base that help the plant grip surfaces. The fine white trichomes (fuzzy coating) on the leaves help retain moisture and protect from harsh conditions. Thrives with regular watering through the sphagnum moss and good humidity.
