Calamondin Orange Bush
The most charming citrus you can grow indoors — and the one that will stop every single guest in their tracks.
Calamondin Orange is a compact, ornamental citrus that produces an abundance of small, bright orange fruits year-round. The fruits are tart and fragrant, the blossoms are intoxicatingly sweet, and the whole plant looks like something out of a Mediterranean courtyard. It thrives in containers, loves a sunny window, and fills any room with the fresh scent of citrus blossoms — even in the middle of January.
It's one of those plants that's genuinely beautiful AND useful, which is a rare combination.
What I love about it:
- Year-round fruiting — produces small orange fruits continuously throughout the year
- Fragrant blooms — white citrus flowers with an intoxicating sweet scent
- Compact size — perfect for containers, patios, and sunny indoor spaces
- Ornamental and edible — beautiful as a houseplant, useful in the kitchen
- Easy to grow — adaptable and forgiving for a citrus plant
Care tips: Place in the brightest spot you have — a south-facing window is ideal. Water when the top inch of soil is dry. Feed with citrus fertilizer during the growing season for best fruiting.
