Opuntia Prickly Pear Cactus

The Opuntia is the cactus that looks exactly like what you'd draw if someone asked you to sketch a cactus — flat, paddle-shaped pads stacked on each other, a little wild, a little architectural, and completely at home on a sunny windowsill. It's one of the fastest-growing cacti you can keep indoors, and it rewards minimal effort with maximum presence. The pads flush with color as they mature, shifting from bright green to deeper, dustier tones depending on light and season.
